Featured Speaker: Prof. Jose David Lapuz

Sir Lapuz, himself  a Knight Grand Cross of Rizal (KGCR) member of  the Order of the Knights of Rizal fraternal organization, is a widely-traveled and highly sought-after lecturer on Rizal, having been a teaching researcher on the subject since 1964.

 

Professor Lapuz is not only one of the most distinguished authorities on the Philippine national hero Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal but is an expert on international politics, comparative foreign policy and Philippine governance and institutions. He is a recipient of numerous awards and commendations including one of Ten Most Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) of the Philippines.

 

As a UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) Commissioner, Lapuz is the only Filipino member of UNESCO’s International Advisory Committee on Human Rights and Reduction of Poverty. Lapuz graduated from the University of the Philippines and was a post graduate British Council scholar at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. He has lectured in such universities as Harvard, Yale, UCLA, University of London, Oxford, University of Leningrad, University of Moscow and the Humboldt University in Berlin.
